The canopy is very prone to any wind. It will swing, sway, and twist in even a 5 MPH breeze. I use a 4 foot strap bungee on each corned to the deck to try to help. If you live where there is no wind, this will work great providing shade.

I bought this umbrella to go over our spa when the previous umbrella finally broke. The instructions and parts list was excellent and very clear. I only needed help to turn and raise the umbrella to put it on the base. It really is for two people because it is so long and the weight is bottom heavy.

After my umbrella I had for years suddenly broke I was looking for something larger but durable, this is the gem! Easy to open, shut, and rotate. You can move it at a angle so the rising or setting sun doesn't cut off your shade! We use it on our deck by our above ground pool so we can rotate it over the pool if it is extremely sunny on the kids or over the deck when they are playing there! Great buy!

Everything arrived in tact, all the pieces were in plastic bags. My husband put it together and it took him maybe 30 minutes or so.It fits out side yard perfect! Very easy to open and close it, even me with my very weak injured arms and hands can do it. From dealing with it for couple of weeks now I can tell that quality of this umbrella is really great! We are very satisfied with this purchase!

I was so happy for my umbrella to set it up in my patio until i did and open it then i was doble happy and said ¡°WOOOOOWWWW is sooo big¡± hahahaha it is beautiful and it was perfect size for what I needed! And also easy to install and very dynamic for the different ways you can handle it! It twists all the way arround where you need it after pushing down a pedal it have and the bottom and also you can go up and down with the handle in the back ! So basically you can change it for any position you need it to be according to the sun!

I wanted a screened gazebo but the configuration of my deck wouldn¡¯t allow for the size I needed! I researched these umbrellas and when I came upon the square umbrella I knew that was exactly what would work! This umbrella is amazing and for the size the price can¡¯t be beat! the review stated that a small person wouldn¡¯t be able to put it together alone but I pride myself on being that girl I¡¯m a small person and I got it done!

This thing is massive and solid to boot! Assembly was easy (though it is heavy). I, a 5' tall, out of shape, female was able to assemble the entire thing myself despite the weight as the instructions were perfectly spelled out. The heaviness is good because this thing feel alike solid steel and is sturdy (though you will need weights so it doesn't rip when extended). I haven't quite figured out how to fully close it back down yet, but that will an adventure for tomorrow. I love how the height is adjustable too.

We bought this primarily to provide privacy for our pool. Love it! We looked at a TON of umbrellas online and glad we went with this one. As the description and most reviewers say - it requires a heavy base. We bought four 16" pavers and three medium sized retaining wall blocks at Lowes that all match our pool deck pretty well. We put the pavers on the umbrella leg flanges and arranged the blocks on top of the pavers - actually looks great and you can still use the rotation foot pedal. That got us to around 200 pounds of base and this thing doesn't move at all, even in a breeze. That said, I would definitely take down the umbrella if it was really windy as it's huge and makes for a giant sail. Assembly was a breeze, just follow the directions in order. All of the parts were there and nothing had any scratches or damage. We've had this up for almost two months and still going strong.

I would have given 5 stars but one arm of the skeleton was crushed during shipping and had to be pried open to insert the arm. This took a bit of time and creativity. We were able to complete the assembly and are completely enjoying our umbrella. It not only shades my lounge chairs but an added benefit is it also blocks the sun from my kitchen. I don¡¯t have to close my blinds any longer at high noon.

I bought this to provide shades for my small residential pool. With a baby who loves to swim, It is just too hot for her to be out in the pool without any shades. This umbrella covers up almost my entire pool [I have the smallest residential pool]. It was easy to set up, the handle that lowers and opens it glides and operates very well. And the price you just cannot beat.

The main support of the umbrella was welded on significantly out of square. If I had not been putting it against a railing and able to orient the flaw so that it was much less noticeable, I would have sent it back. I was going to contact the seller for a replacement part, but it ended up working OK. It is quite sturdy and I am happy with it overall.

Versatility and usefulness are the best attributes big shade.If you want an affordable way to add and remove shade this is the way to go.We debated whether to build a pergola or put patio sails; but wanted to have an easy way to remove shade and not having to maintain a permanent structure or deal with cables and hooks.The 10x10 umbrella was the best solution. We prefer openness at the backyard and now we don't have to look at a structure when it is not needed.The last 2 weeks have been extremely hot; but the shade, paired with the DIY mister works perfectly.The umbrella is able to withstand somewhat strong winds; but honestly, who would want to be outside when the wind is blowing hard? So we retract it.
